I'm about to do a system rebuild; i.e., reformat/reinstall OS and would like
to capture a list of the currently installed programs on the machine so that
I don't overlook something during the rebuild.

The "Add Remove Programs" applet doesn't seem to provide for that so I'm
reduced to a series of screen captures which is not only a PITA, but also
doesn't show verion information, etc.

I can't believe there's not an application out there that would do this, but
I'm not having any luck searching for same. So, can anyone point me to such
a utility?

Thanks in advance,
Bill

Get Belarc Advisor free from www.belarc.com.
It will make an HTML file with a complete inventory of your computer.
Hardware and software with make, model, serial number and key-codes for reinstallation.
You then print the HTML file for your records.

Everyone should have this record of their computer hardware and software.
I had one customer present this to their insurance company after a theft and they got a complete
replacement of the hardware and all of the software.
