captured video plays back too fast

all my captured video plays back like it is in fast forward.

Any ideas?

Captured from what device, using what software, on what system, at
what quality/settings and played back with what software? The more
info you give the easier it is to help.
 
That may be determined by the settings in the software you are using to
do the capture.
 
Make sure the hard drive you are capturing to is an NTFS
file system. FAT32 has a 4 GB max file size.
