Capture File Path into table field

I am trying to be able to relate documents to records, without using
the OLE Object Field. In creating a record for the document, I'd like
to be able to browse to the file, and somehow capture the path,
inserting it into a table field for later use.

I like using the OLE Object field to relate a record, as you can see a
thumbnail, double click on it, and it opens, but then I cannot use the
path data for other things, like sending emails with attachments.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance,
magmike
