I desperately need a captcha script. However, my coding skills stop at
FrontPage. Can anyone suggest a USER-FRIENDLY captcha script? I don't even
care if there is advertising on it, I just need one I can install EASILY.

You will need to search for one based on what server-side scripting language is supported by your
web host.

Hi

FRONTPAGE CAPTCHA SOLUTION

If you are happy with client-side validation just to prevent webbots from
submitting garbage in the form, look here for a downloadable Captcha with
instructions:

http://www.archreality.com/jcap/index.shtml

and then look at

http://www.caymandrama.org.ky/skillsregister.htm (View source) where I have
commented the steps.

I created a directory _jcap in my web project and placed the needed files in
there. I placed the image files in _jcap/cimg and amended the pointer in
jcap.js to point to it.

Many thanks to Jonathan Feaster of Archreality Design
(http://www.archreality.com/) for supplying something which after all of
these years Microsoft should have included as a standard feature of Frontpage.

aI understand that JS can be disabled - however in using the simple JCAP
client-side validation I have cut spam by a very large amount. The solution
works for "non-programmers" within the Frontpage environment. And so it is a
worthwhile exercise purely within the Frontpage context.

My other comment still stands - I do find it extraordinary that no feature
was built into the Frontpage Web Components which allowed for this kind of
validation. This is basic security. I wonder if it is built into Silverlight?

I agree with Ronx - client-side CAPTCHA is a waste of effort. In fact, any
CAPTCHA is a waste. Honeypot methods work much better in my experience....
