Captcha is a PITA? Why not outlaw bots?

Captcha is comin atcha. Totally irritating IMO. Still, I like to
use speech recognition to enunciate the letters, just for the
challenge of the thing.

They are a pain in the rear, No? So why not eliminate the need by
making bots illegal, do something to discourage bot users instead
of just punishing normal users?

While I understand that it is irritating, and I cop it in various forms often enough, I think that keeping the government and so called "law enforcement" as far away as possible from the internet is a much higher priority. Any power at all that comes near them will be twisted around to censor the net.

For example the net and the free speech on it, played a significant part (in Australia) in bringing down the man made global warming fraud, and has decimated the party that supported it. It has also helped expose a lot of other nasty things, They will want to do anything to censor it.

Often the letters are so small and unclear that you have to guess at
them. A bot can probably read them better than I can.
