CAPS LOCK on Keyboard

C

Chantal

I have a wireless keyboard. Therefore it does not lit up to show that my CAPS
LOCK is on or off. I was told that the way around it is that when the CAPS
are on, this is shown at the bottom of the screen in the Word Processor.
Unfortuntely this is not the case. Is there a Word Option that I can tick
for this to happen?

In Word 2007, right-click on the status bar and choose Caps Lock as one of
the items to display. In previous versions (except for very, very long-ago
versions), the Caps Lock status is not and cannot be displayed (it is
displayed in Excel).

Chantal,

Although not specific to Word itself, on both of my Dell laptops that are
running Windows Vista, a brief message is displayed in the lower right of
the screen when the Caps Lock is toggled. I'm not sure if this is a Vista
feature or a Dell feature, but it does work regardless of the application
that's currently in use.

Of course, I recognise that you specifically asked how to display the Caps
Lock status in Word and that you may not be running Windows Vista, but it
may be what the person who "told [you] about the way around it" was talking
about.
