caps and number lock

how can you tell if you have caps or number lock pressed.
my keyboard does not have a light or any indication that i
have caps or number lock on. it is a gateway computer

Good grief, a keyboard without the three magic lights? There is no way of
seeing this in Word. My recommendation is to invest a few shekels in a new
keyboard: they are remarkably cheap.

I for one regretted MS's removing CAPS from the status bar since my Caps
Lock and Num Lock lights are covered up by a mouse platform.

Around W97. I am sure it was still there in the transition from W6 to W95
but died in W97.

When did MS remove CAPS from Word's status bar? I don't see it on Word
97.

I also have a Gateway computer. I do not know of any
Gateway keyboard without the 3 lights in the upper right
corner of the keyboard. I will admit that I have seen 1
instance in many many ... many years where the led
(light) burned out. That is highly unlikely or unusual.
