can't view pictures in my outlook mail

Can someone tell me what is the security setting that's preventing me from
seeing picture attachments in my email? I see that there are attachments,
but i'm unable to view them in the preview pane; i have to open them one at
a time in a picture viewer. I just made the switch to outlook from OE, and
in OE i could see the pictures in the preview pane.

It's not a security setting. Outlook doesn't preview attachments inline. OE
does.
Outlook only shows images inline with HTML mail items or RTF mail items with
OLE embedded images.

I can see why it might seem so. It helps to remember that Outlook and
Outlook Express are completely unrelated programs designed for different
target users. Outlook is geared more for the corporate and business user and
in that setting most users would prefer not to have every attachment
automatically displayed.
