Can't view attachment

I have a user using Outlook 2000 that can view some of the attachments he
gets in email. The ones he can't view give him the error message, "Could
not open one or more attachments." The only thing I have noticed about
these attachments, is that they appear to not have an extension. Some of
these I can open in OWA and they have double extensions in OWA (which won't
open). Would not
having an extension be the problem? I would think the email would open but
have a generic icon for the attachment.

Thanks,

John

Make sure his Folder settings in Windows allows him to view all extensions,
not just certain extensions. Uncheck 'Hide all known file extensions.' Also
look at his security settings and see if attachments are allowed. And
beware--using double extensions is a known way to hide viruses and worms.

Thanks. I turned off attachments security but got 'The object could not be
found.' I searched on that message and found Q195754. I renamed the
frmcache.dat and attachments started working again.
