Can't use .wps files, what should I do?

When you install Word, if makes itself the default application for RTF
files. You can change that. RIGHT click an RTF file, Select Open With
and Choose Program. Browse to the Works Word Processor and also check
the box to Always open with this program.

Hi Jean I can offer some suggestions, but first, tell me how you are able to
have a saved .rtf file change into .wps when attaching them to e-mail, I
have never seen that happen.

quote "The problem is that I'm trying to e-mail files that were saved as
"rtf" files, but when I attach them to the e-mail, they appear with the
"wps" extension." unquote.

There is more then one way to open a document perhaps this article will
offer some incite......

Working Together Microsoft Works and Microsoft® Office

As you noticed, when you double clicked .rtf file, your computer has .rtf
extension assigned to open with Microsoft Office Word.

If you do not want to re-assign .rtf extension to open with Works when
double clicked, here is how to open it with Works.

Open Works Word processor, then choose Open on it's file menu.

In the Open dialog window, click down arrow for Files of type:,

Note: the drop down menu will contain a list of file extension that this
program has converters to open them. (similar as the Save As dialog where
the program has converters to save them in the format selected)

Choose Rich Text Format (*.rtf), then navigate to and select the .rtf file
(document), click Open.

OpenOffice is a FREE program similar to Microsoft Office, you might find it
of interest.

| Thanks, Ken, that does seem to work, but the rtf file that's now
| attached opens with Microsoft Office Word, rather than with Works Word.
(I
| have a trial version of Office installed, but didn't plan to buy it.)
Does
| this mean I'll need to buy Office to get this to work?

I must have accidentally erased some necessary file. Everytime I try to
access the word processor protion of my works I get the message. "ordinial
309 could not be located in the dynamic link library LTKRN13N.dll. This might
be easy to replace but no works disks came with my computer. Is there a place
to obtain a copy of this file ?
