I have windows XP Home. When entering the settings
on startup, F2, I was trying to record all the settings prior to changing
the CMOS Battery but find that none of the keyboard buttons work, and there
is no mouse use. None of the UP/Down arrows, Space bar, or the Escape
buttons work so had to switch off at mains plug. Any Ideas would be
appreciated...Richard

If the mouse and keyboard are USB, you need to enable legacy USB support in
the system BIOS. If you have access to standard PS/2 mouse and keyboard,
temporarily connect those for purposes of entering the BIOS and making the
adjustment. After that, you should be able to use at least the USB keyboard
assuming your system BIOS and motherboard support legacy USB.
