This could be the result of Spyware.

However, if it is indeed spyware, it would be wise to remove it using a utility,
such as AdAware:

After downloading AdAware, make sure you update it so as to afford yourself
the best protection. In addition to AdAware, there is CWShredder. Consider this
a companion to AdAware, as it catches the variants that may have been missed by
