Can't Turn Out of Office Assistant Off

Colleague has just got back from holiday and wants to turn out of office
assistant off.
Selecting Out of Office Assistant from Tools menu gives "This command is not
available. See the program documentation about how to use this extension."

I have a workaround for this but not a reason or long-term solution. We
simply changed the setting from within OWA. Outlook itself still throws-up
the error, though.

Try reinstalling the Exchange extensions.
