Can't Transmit or Delete Two Msgs in Outbox

Hello-
Have been using Outlook 2003 for some time and encountered the following problem. Two 9MB messages in the Outbox refuse to be sent or even deleted. I am sure my ISP (Adelphia) is refusing to handle the msgs, but in any event, Outlook will not let me delete them; each time I try, I get the error message "Can't open this item. Outlook has already begun transmitting this message." . . . I have tried every method I can think of to get rid of these recalcitrant msgs, all to no avail! And by being in the Outbox, they are slowing down transmission of other new messages. . . . Does anyone have any idea what to do? (This has been going on for three days now.) THANKS.

Try to add a new outlook identity and set it as a default
folder to recieving e-mails. Then move everythin to this
new identity except the 2 mails.

I am not sure this can work but it's the only solution
when I found the same problem.

Harry-
Thank you s-o-o-o much for your help on getting rid of the outbox emails that would not transmit or delete. I followed your excellent directions and just now finished reconfiguring Outlook 2003. Everything is working great now--and the outgoing emails in question are gone, of course

I really appreciate your help very much

Another approach would be to change your send/receive settings so that
Outlook doesn't send/receive, stop Outlook, and restart it. You should then
be able to delete the messages. Change the send/receive settings back
again, and restart Outlook once more.
