Can't stop recording ATI TV8.5

Whenever I open the TV Player (version 8.5) it automaticly starts recording.
I don't want to skip forward or back and it bogs my system down. How can I
just turn it off?

Are you perhaps using "time shift" and just need to click the button?

Time shift does sound like a good discription of what it is doing but where
is this time shift button?
