cant sign on

I am trying to sign onto windows by clicking on my icon
and a message comes up that its corrupt and wont let me
sign on. Any ideas on how to fix this? Please email me.

Do you have more than one user?
Can you log on as another user?
Is it XP Professional or XP Home?

The easiest fix is to log in as another administrative user, rename the
directory that is yours under C:\Documents and Settings\ and then log out
and back in as your user. It will recreate the profile from scratch and by
then taking ownership of the old profile files/directories, you can copy the
old stuff you NEED to the new area. That would be the cleanest way to fix
it.
