Is there a way to sign in?

my computer boots to a screen with my name and icon , and everytime I try to
click on the icon it says it is signing on, then says it is signing off and
comes up with a sign off screen. is this a virus or what, does the same
thing in safe mode.
 
In know this works on Pro, not sure about Home (should work)

Start > Run > control userpasswords2 > select account you want to auto login
for > untick Users must enter a password > Apply or OK > enter & confirm
password for account
