i got 2 computers at home, connected to switch to ADSL model for connection
sharing. Both computers share a hard-drive for file sharing like mp3 and
stuffs. Before i install sp2, both side work great. i install sp2 for 1 week
and i didn't check with the sharing file until today. in the network
neigberhood, i can't see the other computer in the network group. I named
the network group name as MSHOME. however, i have a printer setup on a
computer, the other side was able to use that. what did i done wrong? i'm
using win xp pro sp2, one of the computer is P3 and the other one is a
laptop.

Tom, I have exactly the same problem. However, I use a Linksys wireless
router and access point, the WRT54G. Even though I cannot access files on
the other computer, I can still access the internet from both computers.

Bill Gates has alot of balls selling the SP2 and having it crash our
networks. Someone should sue Microsoft! Any volunteers?

JAK,

I have yet to see SP2 crash anything. All I see is that people
have bugs in their networks or in their computers that are
exposed by SP2 or that they didn't care to check the new
firewall settings.

SP2 works fine here and in most places. And it definitely raises
security.

If you have a problem with SP2, just have a look at
http://www.michna.com/kb/WxSP2.htm.

XP/SP2 and Windows 2003 are "secure" by default. No longer opened widely for
access. You must know the products very well and what you are doing in order
to make things run for you.

BTW, Didn't we ask for it ? "secure", "secure", "secure"...
