Can't set delegates to groups???? Outlook 2003 / Exchange 2000

Leythos

I have a account, (e-mail address removed) setup on my exchange 2000
server. I have opened the account in Outlook 2003 and selected three
Universal Distribution groups as Delegates with READ-ONLY on the IN-BOX
and saved the settings.

When I close outlook and re-open the delegates section, the Universal
Dist. group shows that the group has no access - it won't maintain the
read-only settings for the IN-BOX for the groups.

Any ideas on how to delegate read-only for Distribution Groups?

If I can't delegate to a Distribution Group, how can I set MS Excahnge
permissions for the groups in the Exchange Advanced Tab so that users in
the groups can open/read, but can't delete email in the inbox?

Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly, the groups would need to be security groups. You
can't use distribution groups to set permissions, which is part of the
delegate feature.
