Can't send or recieve mail

I connect to the internet with a cable modem through
Charter Pipeline. I have followed all the instructions to
get my email working yet I can't send or recieve mail
over Outlook. If I send mail it just sits in the Outbox.
Any help anyone can send mw will be appreciated.
 
What version of Outlook? Have you tried using the Test Account Settings?
What error messages do you get? Do you have your send/receive groups
defined to send immediately when connected? Do you have an automatic
polling interval set?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
