can't send mass emails with powerpoint attachments

I can not send emails in outlook 2007 that have powerpoint and pdf
attachments. The powerpont presentation is saved as a show only i also
included a copy in pdf for the viewers that can not veiwe presentation when
I try to send the presentation it seems to get stuck and continues to send
without ever sending the message. i also have about 500 contacts but i break
the up into distubutions list. If i attach the file. on my yahoo it will
transmitt instantly.
