I am ready to scream! I have a new email address for a personal domain
purchase through register.com. I use a wireless connection at various
places. I set up the pop3 settings exactly as outlined on register.com, AND
exactly as outlined through their customer support . . When I test the
settings. The Send mail feature fails. States either check email address
or cant log on to server. . . EVERYTHING is entered correctly. . the exact
some entries work on outlook exchange. /express. . . .

I also run aol. . could this be a firewall issue as well?

No, it's most likely a relaying issue where the SMTP server you're using
isn't accepting mail from off their network. Check with your SMTP server
provider to see if they accept authenticated SMTP or some other way of
sending mail.

It's more likely the wireless connections at various places are preventing
access to your SMTP server for security reasons.

If you are trying to send directly to register.com's SMTP server, AOL may
be blocking outbound port 25. from a DOS prompt type
'telnet <name of SMTP server> 25' without the quotes. The server should
respond. If you get a connection failure, then your ISP is blocking
outbound port 25.
