can't send e-mails using Yahoo or Hotmail

Hello,
I have not been able to send e-mails for the past
month thru hotmail or yahoo. I receive the "cannot find
server message" everytime. I have done everything I
thought my fix the problem (going into Internet options,
trying to uninstall windows) but nothing seems to work. I
do have antivirus software (Trend Micro) but I have had
it for a while and this has never occured. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance. Have a

Have your done a traceroute (tracert) to see if the IP name for the
server is known and if the server is actually reachable? For the
Microsoft server, you may not actually reach the server (you didn't
specify which one you use) but you should hit a boundary host on their
domain.
