Can't Send E-Mails from Outlook

I can receive e-mails via Outlook, but don't know what I
did to disrupt the ability to send e-mails via Outlook.
Tech troubleshooting with my ISP didn't help. Any
suggestions? Here's the error message I receive:

Task 'mail.verizon.net - Sending and Receiving' reported
error (0x800CCC78): 'Unable to send the message. Please
verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The
server responded: 553 Authentication is required to send
mail as <[email protected]>'

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer,

I had the same problem with Earthlink in March. The
problem was Earthlink went to a new system (for security)
requiring an authorization code for Sending Emails.
Thech Support was albe to have me change a couple of
settings in my profile that fixed the problem right away.

Since all the ISPs were having the same security problem,
I wonder if Verizon did the same thing and your Tech
support guy may not have mentioned it.
Hope this helps point in the right direction.
Walt
