Can't select single file/folder in Windows explorer

Every so often in Windows explorer instead of being able
to select a single file or folder, every file/folder from
the top to the desired file is selected. The only way
out is restart Win Xp. Exiting and restarting Win
Explorer does nothing. This problem even transfers to
the desktop. Its as if something was stomping on Win
Explorer's exe file. I've had the computer for 6 months
and it's done this during this time.
Thanks for any help.

I get this problem occasionally too. The condition you
discribed is that of a stuck "shift" key. What I find
happens is the various control keys can get stuck. So i go
pressing all the "shift", "cntl", and "alt" a few times.
Their of 2 of each, so do both. Generally I find this
actionn frees them up.
