Can't see the slides shown on main screen in 2 screen presentation

During a 2 screen presentation I want to see my notes etc. on my notebook
screen and show the dias on the projector screen. Everything is functioning
EXCEPT that the dias window on my notebook screen (which should be showing
the dias being shown on the projector screen) is black! I can see the 2
button arrows, pen and menu tabs but no picture! I can also see my notes
window - and the strip of slides in the show at the bottom of the screen. Can
anybody help me to remove the black hole and show me my dias??? (Using ppt
2007 from an Office package).

Hi Lucy!
Many many thanks for your advice - everything is working again.
I checked the driver update - it was OK. Then I shut off the graphics
accelerator in the slide show settings - then it all worked. You saved my day
for the presentations next week!

Can I be cheeky and ask if you have a solution to another problem I have???
When I have shown a ppt presentation and want to show a DVD afterwards (or
before) from my laptop and switch back to a ppt - I have problems with the
screen settings - they don't function in the same way for ppt / DVD. I end up
messing around with settings and switching the laptop (Fn + F3) and generally
looking very unprofessional before I eventually get things working - is there
an easier way???
