Can't see some fields on forms since upgrade to Vista

I have a new Dell pc which came with Windows Media Center 2005 and I just
upgraded (free from Dell) to Vista Home Premium.

Prior to upgrade I used PCMover to transfer programs and files to my new
dell computer from my old computer.

Everything and/ or all programs worked perfectly after I completed the
transfer from old to new pc.

Prior to installing Vista I followed Dell's upgrade instructions to the
letter and the instalation to Vista went smoothly as far as I can tell with
the exception of being able to operate 2- programs that worked prior to the
upgrade to Vista.

These 2- programs are from 1998 and are special to my business. Both
programs worked perfectly when I transferred them to my new dell computer.

Both programs have forms incorporated with fileds that I fill-in with
numbers and/ or words.

Both programs start- up fine but when you tab/ go to a page other than the
1st page you can see all of the fields displayed on the screen and in some
instances while you hold the tab down the fileds do display momentarily. If
you're lucky and happen to put the mouse pointer on a field you can then see
it and enter data.

Outside of not being able to see the fields the both programs seem to work
as they should.

In other words I can print my reports and run calculations.

Any suggestions would be extremely appreciated.

An upgrade to Vista "generally" brings your old problems into a new
environment that may have even more issues with those old problems.

Since these are mission critical apps, I'd suggest uninstalling them and
removing all traces of them from the system. Then reinstall them using the
compatibility features available in Vista.

Set the compatibility options for the installer to run as XP SP2 (or Win
2000 if applicable) and then set it to run as Administrator. Then, once
installed, set the .exe file to run as XP SP2 and to Run as Administrator.
This generally works for most programs that are reluctant to run under Vista.
