When I open my mail and there are pictures that are in my mail it comes up
with a box and an X in it. Why is that and can it be fixed

Two places to check.
1. Enable attachments: Tools, Options, Security, uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."
If that doesn't do it:
2. Go back to the same place and select "Internet zone".

If you have McAfee or Norton antivirus, you'll need to uninstall those.

What is the size of the email?
Properties, Details, Message Source of an email.
Is there a big group of letters and numbers?
