Embedded photos

When I send a mail all the pictures are embedded in the mail when I only want
them to be attachments. Problem is greater in that the pictures fill the
whole mail making them difficult to see anyway. I either need the pictures
removed from the text or made about half the size.

Windows Mail will show all the attachments as if they were part of the
message if they are among the types of attachments it knows how to do
this for.

Windows Mail doesn't offer much help in reducing the size of picture
attachments; you'll need to do this in some other program, then
save them as a new file, then close the other program used to do this,
before telling Windows Mail to attach them.

Try this: Open Windows Photo Gallery. Select the pictures you want to
send. Click the E-mail button on its toolbar. Then it will ask you to select
the picture size.

Thank you. That has made them smaller which helps. But how do I avoid
embedding altogether?

An additional annoyance is that it keeps defaulting back to medium having
changed it to small!

Whether or not an attached picture is displayed at the bottom of
the sent email is up to the receiving email program. You as the sender
have no control over which email program the recipient uses or how
he has it configured.

Sorry if I didn't explain this properly first time round.

1) Can I make the photos smaller using the attachment facility in Windows
Mail rather than having to use your Photo Gallery workaround?
2) The embedding problem is with my own 'sent' mails not with the
recipient's version. Can I avoid Windows Mail showing the embedded photo in
my sent mails folder?

Thanks
