Can't see network computers

We have a 25-computer network with a machine with Windows Server 2003 acting as
server. I'm having problems with one laptop (the only computer acting that way in
the network). Namely, it can't connect to any of the computers in the network. The
computer name is unique, IP is assigned automatically (same as all the computers
in the network), and all the settings are identical to all other workstations. It
only sees the workgroup it belongs to, and can access it, but it's the only
computer in the workgroup. Any other computer from the same and other workgroups
can access all other computers and the server in the network (but not this
laptop). The bizarre thing is that the laptop can access the internet through the
network without any problems.

I've checked every single setting on the laptop and on the server, but can't find
anything wrong with either. All other computers on the same switch (one desktop
and one laptop) can access the network. I've tried moving the laptop around,
trying other switches and the main switch, but the result is same, no matter where
I plug it in.

I've also tried disabling Windows Firewall, all the antivirus software, all
unnecessary programs and tried running it in safe mode with networking with same
results. I've also reinstalled the drivers for the network adapter (that was the
last stupid resort) and tried disabling the wireless adapter as well.

Could anyone please help me with this? I have a sneaky suspicion it's something
silly I've overlooked, but I'm out of ideas.

Babs,

you could fill in the form at http://winhlp.com/wxnet.htm and
follow the resulting advice.

Tried that. That's how I came here. Thanks though.

Oh, this is a rare case! If you find the time, please let me
know the content of the Selections line at the end of "Step 1",
just above the three buttons, after the form is filled.
