I can get the system to find my server easy enough. I can't see any of the computers in the workgroup but my own! Not sure what I'm missing. I've verified file sharing I can see everything when I'm directly connected to the lan in the office but when I try to go through the vpn it connects but nothing comes up in the workgroups. Any ideas?

assuming you are using windows RRA, have you enable the ip routing?

I'm using windows xp home edition on all systems. I used the connection wizards to set it all up. So whatever they use is what I have. I'm not exactly an expert. Am I suppose to use any specific network protocols other the tcp/ip?

Browsing can be a little difficult with a VPN connection, especially if the
VPN server is behind a firewall.

Can you explicitly map network drives to known computers and shares.
You may need to put the remote computer's IP and Name in your HOSTS and
LMHOSTS files.
