Can't See Messages in the Deleted Folder

Suddenly yesterday in Outlook 2007 the messages that I deleted would flash
into the Deleted folder and then disappear. I can't find them anywhere, and
yet when I right-click the folder and Empty the folder, the action appears to
be doing just that. Once emptied, nothing happens when I try to Empty the
folder a second time. What could be causing the fact that messages in the
Deleted folder are not visable?
 
Thank you, Diane. The View setting somehow got changed and when pointed
back to Messages, there they were!

Thank you, Diane. Somehow the View got changed and when pointed back to
Messages, the problem was solved.
