Can't search from IE bar, adware and spybot tell me I'm clean.

I've run spybot, adware and I'm clean. I can't search from the IE bar
I'm getting http:///? california debate when I type in
California debate.

I have popup stopper but I doubt that's it and no firewall running
when I tried this thinking it might be something in the firewall
software.

Suggestions on getting me back to square one?

Have you tried to change your Encoding in the View Menu.


If you have a new variant of some parasite you may have to check it out.

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php#det
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")
