Can't save power schemes

I have a Dell Inspiron notebook and used to have about 10 power schemes that
came installed in the computer. Well something happened and I lost all of
them except portable/laptop and home office/desk. I can't even save new power
schemes. If I try to save one, it will appear to save, but when I X out of
the window, then open it back up the saved scheme is gone. Any ideas?

You say "something happened". What? In the meantime, go to Dell's
website for your specific model laptop and download QuickSet. Install
it.

Well I double clicked on one of the schemes and it said something about it
not being compatible, and then they weren;t there anymoew. I will try what u
said...Thanks
