Can't Save Pictures as JPG images

I am unable to save pictures off the net as jpg images.
When I tell it to "save as" the only option I get is
bitmap. This has happened before and I stumbled across
the fix, but I am having a brain fog and can't recall how
or what I did.

Clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete files (and
delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the TIF folder be kept at
about 50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.
