Can't Save Favorites in IE

Okay, I'm using Vista Ultimate, logged in with an Admin account, yet when I
go to save a Favorite in IE I get:

Unable to create 'Website': Unspecified error

If I try to create a folder in Favorites, I get Access is denied.

Now, I can browse to Rick > Favorites, and make any changes I want using
Explorer. And I've checked the NTFS Security, and my profile has Modify
control on the Favorites folder. And subfolders.

I also looked at the same folders in c:\Users\Rick, instead of just Desktop
Rick, and there the permissions and ownership look screwy. And I can't
make any changes there at all. Can't take ownership, nothing, despite
logging in as an Admin, and okaying the prompts. I assume Vista doesn't want
you making the changes there, but want you to do it in the "virtual
locations". But then it won't let me there, either.

So, what's up with that? Any ideas?

How did you create the entries in your favourites? A suggestion to try, is
to move all of your entries, if copied from another system, to a new folder
on the desktop. If this works, as it did on mine, you can try various ways
of adding them back to the favourites folder. I don't remember what worked
for me, but I initially had the same problem and now it works.

I had to create a new folder in Favorites from IE, then I can save favorites
to it. Originally I used Windows Explorer to populate the favourites after
transferring from XP as I could not make any transfer method.
