Sounds like you are opening it as a READ ONLY.

Do you have permission on the Network to save changes to files?

Yes I have permision to change and save files they are in my folder

Hi,

Are these Shared Workbooks? If not maybe someone else has them open or do
you have them open twice - in separate instances of Excel? Both of these
will stop you from saving them.

If this helps, please click the Yes button.

Neither, nobody else is working on the file while I am working, I have
only one copy open at the time.
That only way I have beeing able to solve this is changing the name.
But I am tired of doing that!!

Shane do you work for MSFT?

Thank you

Hi,

Did you check the Open Files folder to check that no one is using the file.

Follow the steps below to get to Open Files:
1) On the PC that is sharing the file, right-click on My Computer.
2) Click Manage in the context menu.
3) Expand Shared Folders.
4) Click Open Files.
5) Look for the file to see if anyone is using it.
6) If there is another user, check if the user is using it. If not, right-click on the file and click Close Open File.

Hope this will solve the problem.

regards,
Jeremy

Does anyone have a clue about this? I have the EXACT same issue (and setup)
as the user describes above. This has started to happen to about a dozen of
my users just this past week. No network changes were made at all (Netware
6.5sp8) - perhaps it's an update from MS (either XP or Office) that is giving
this error?

Thanks in advance,
