can't run disk cleanup utility

When I run disk cleanup, it starts to run, has a progress
bar, but never finishes. My CPU usage goes up to 95%
from that utility and continues even after I stop the
utility and it closes. Any ideas would be helpful.

the right-hand window, click on "Disk Cleanup - Compress Old Files Freezes"

Simply click on Kelly's fix, download the registry fix, then run it
