that is probably the root cause
of the problem you were having
before the attempt to repair.
not exactly sure about the exact
error mentioned to you without
further research. That q document
could be a kb at microsoft.com or
you could try googling for it.
however, at this time the only options
you have to enter your pc without an
o.s. is either via recovery console or
emergency bootup disks.
my guess is that you will have to
enter your file system via recovery console,
find that driver and remove it.
with recovery console you can alsa access
the registry files, the original registry files, etc...
since you now know how to get into the
system, the next thing for you to research
is that kernal and its related q document.
possibly if you are able to eliminate that file
which is corrupting your system, you will
be able to boot up normally again without
the cd.
there could be a secondary option which would
be to do a new install of the o.s. in a different/seperate
partition. The secondary o.s. can be used as a
spare/backup o.s. that can be used to work on
the other o.s. when it is unfunctional.
I have a secondary
o.s. as well and my pc has a dual boot. the secondary
o.s. is virgin, true to the setup cd and has no updates installed on it
Unfortunately, i cannot give you anymore information
as the error you found is uniquely to your system,
but i hope the above can be helpful to you.
hope when you figure it out, you can share
what it was, where it came from and how you
fixed it....
