I try to use Windows Live Mail as default mail client by changing settings in
Windows Live Mail to make it default. But when i go internet explorer and try
to send link by email, a message from outlook express askes if i want to make
outlook express default. instead of opening the default mail editor, it opens
outlook.

Aadnub,

Open Outlook Express
TOOLS menu | OPTIONS
General tab, click the MAKE DEFAULT button at the bottom

Open Internet Explorer:
TOOLS menu | INTERNET OPTIONS
PROGRAMS tab
Change 'e-mail' to Outlook Express, click APPLY & then click OK

From your post it seems like it is NOT Outlook Express you want to handle
these, so...

In XP:

- Open Internet Explorer
- Click on Tools -> Internet Options
- Click on the Programs tab.
- Is Windows Live Mail set in the Email field? If not, select it from the
drop-down menu.

Or in Vista,

- Same as above, but after clicking on Programs tab click the Set Programs
button
- Click "Set your default programs"
- Select Windows Live Mail
- Click on "Choose defaults for this program"
- Check the appropriate boxes and click Save

X-post to WLMail newsgroup.

[Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs >] Set Program Access and Defaults >
Configuration that's already checked > Mail > Select "Windows Live Mail"
