Can't remove username from Sign in screen.

I'm trying to remove a username from an OWA login screen but the username
won't go away. I've gone into Internet Explorer properties (Tools options
under Content and Autocomplete and clicked Clear Forms and Passwords) to
remove the username and this doesn't work. I've even clicked on the username
and clicked Delete on the keyboard. How can I get rid of the username?

Is the security setting set to Private Computer? If so, change it to public
and see if that works.

Private setting? Where's that located? The security settings are set to the
default medium.

Sorry, are you using forms-based authentication to access OWA? If so the
private setting is on the login screen. If you are not using it try
uninstalling IE and reinstalling it to see if that works. You could even
install the IE 7.0 Beta if you are feeling daring.

There's just a remember password checkbox on the screen but its unchecked but
the username is still in there.

Are you using an SSL Certificate on your site? If so, you can use forms
based authentication instead of having the pop-up authentication box for the
users. If not try reinstalling IE.

Hi,
Try...
Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone> Custom Level> User
Authentication> (select) "Prompt for user name and password." If the site
has been placed in another zone (Intranet or Trusted Sites) "Prompt for
username..." may need to be selected there also.

Also go to Control Panel> User Accounts> [UserName]> Manage network
passwords, is the login information saved there?

Hope this helps,
Don

The computer is using a generic account logging into a Novell network. I'll
just try uninstalling Internet Explorer & reinstalling it.
