can't receive emails.....

I'm sure this has been asked before....forgive me...

I get the following error message:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop1.sympatico.ca',
Server: 'pop1.sympatico.ca', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Sometimes I receive email after re-starting Outlook, sometimes I don't.

Any hints or help would be immensely appreciated.
 
Often the result of an Anti Virus program setup to scan email that has gone
rogue, are you running an email scanner?

I have only Norton Anti-Virus latest edition....there are no other Anti-Virus
programs installed.
 
Thanks guys---between the two of you, I have somehow managed to fix it! If
you closer to Toronto, I'd buy ya both a beer!
