Can't Read UDF in WinXP

I have the lastest version of MS Flight Simulator and tried to load it in our
PC running WinXP SP2. The game is in UDF format and my PC can't recognize.
When the DVD-ROM is loaded, all I can see is the README file. On the MS KB it
says to look for any hotfixes to solve the problem. I have searched
microsoft.com but have not found anything, according to Windows Update, all
of the latest fixes have been applied to my OS. Anyone have any ideas or know
any hotfixes that address this issue?

Is your cd drive a DVD drive, or only CD? If it's only CD, then you're
SOL.
