There are a couple problems but maybe it is all the same problem.
Information of my system:
OS = XP
Frontpage 2002
Frontpage serverextentions 2002 5.0.2.2623
Serverversion not in use
IIS installed

I can't publish through HTTP while my ISP says I should be able to. I can't
publish a response form with FTP the systems says there are no
serverextensions installed. When I install it local I get the same message.

Where am I going wrong.

Herman

In order for any run-time function (form, guest book, etc.) to work you must
be able to publish to a server that has the FP extensions via FP's http
mode, FTP will not work and will in many cases corrupt the extensions on the
remote server, requiring them to be re-installed.

In order to publish, you must first open the web in FP via the File Menu |
Open Web command, then use the File Menu | Publish Web command, enter your
destination as http://www.domainname.com and then your login info (as
provided by your host).

Locally: If you want to use IIS, then you must have installed the FP
extensions and then configured them for the default web, then you must
access the web in FP via http://localhost. The ability to send a form via
email will not work on your local machine, unless you have a SMTP server
installed.

I am getting this error message: "could not find a
web server @http://mysite.com on port 80. Please check to
make sure the web server is valid and your proxy settings
are set correctly".

Everything worked last week. I don't have a proxy. It's
just me and my cable modem.

I also get: "unable to open http://mysite.com. Server
error: The web server does not appear to have FP server
extensions installed." Well, they had them last week!

Thanks in advance.

Try entering the URL as:

http://www.mysite.com

It is possible that your cable modem has a built-in proxy server.

Similar problem here - see my reply above. Do you have a firewall? If
you temporarily disable it, does the error disappear?

How did you move the site to new host and how long ago?

Hi

I have similar problems all the time with my NTL cable broadband and
Fasthosts, I find hat if I actually dial in over a modem and publish the
site it works (I dial in using a Fasthosts dial account which is free) as
this abviously bypasses ant proxy settings that NTL may use. Once published
this way I also find that I can update the site using broadband again..Weird
but this may be what you need to rty?

Hope That Helps

I'm guessing I changed about a week ago. We were waiting
for a domain server change from another server to Yahoo!

In Fp2002, I just changed the address in the "to" field
and published it from Fp2002. The original web is still on
my Adelphia.net server and on my local computer.

IMO, you should get a real web host, one that only does web host and support
the FP extensions.

I just downloaded WS_FTP and even that won't connect to
Yahoo!
Already spent money with Yahoo!, so hate to change WPPs.
My other WPP works fine, so I feel pretty confident that I
have the settings/entries correct. Guess I'll send more e-
mails to Yahoo!
Thanks.

I'm confused as to why he's messing with yahoo, and mentioned that his host
his Adelphia? Adelphia supports FP extensions.
