can't play dvd's

Itidat.dll problem

I'm running Windows XP Home Service Pack 2 and went to load a DVD that I got. I have downloaded an Encoder, but when it went to load it, the message saying itidat.dll doesn't exist. How do I play DVD's on my computer? They used to work (couple years ago), but now nothing plays. Even the DVD's that used to work don't.
