Can't play AVI files even with DIVX codec

Hello,
I was here few days ago and saw same topic about problems with .avi files. I downloaded DIVX codec, player, everything, but the .avi file I downloaded won't open.

More precisely, I don't how to use any of these programs. I select the .avi file and Open With... then I select DIVX EKG, PLAYER, but nothing happens.

Please, help. Thank you!
