Can't ping

I have a 2 computer network that are connected with a crossover cable.
When I ping the Ip address or DNS server(both set at 10.10.10.1) it
says it is unreachable.
Loopback works fine.
Any help would be appreciated.
 
You can't have two machines sitting on the same IP address.
Make one of them 10.10.10.1, the other 10.10.10.2.
