Can't open Word documents in OpenOffice

I installed OpenOffice 2.01 (Dutch). It does not open MS Word
documents (problem with conversion filter or something). Pretty
useles. Never had such problems with 1.1.5. What could be the cause,
and what to do about it?

Hans,

I personally have never had that problem. Are you getting any error
messages? What version of Office was it created in? I know you said
that 1.1.5 gave you no problems, but is the the *only* difference in
your set up? Did you happen to save the docs in another format? Have
you checked the OO.o forums?

I have the same problem with Oo2.0 German version even with *.txt
files. If I want to open these with type *.* the error occurs, but
when I explixitly specify *.txt or *.doc etc, the documents are
opened.
The error is entered in the forum under ID=55905

In my setup (Win98SE), the folder
C:\Programme\...\OpenOffice\share\basic\WebWizard
is empty. I often get complaints, that script.xlb is missin there.
Might be this is related to the problem???
How is it in your installation?

I unistalled the lot, removed remaining OO files and folders, cleaned
up the registry by removing all OO entries and then reïnstalled OO
2.01. It's working OK now.
