Paul

I decided to do my yearly reinstall of XP Pro and it went smoothly. So, I
went to listen to my music saved on my D partition and there are certain
folders (seems to be anything music related) that I can't open. I get the
"D:\ is not accessible. Asses is denied" error.
I've disabled firewall and used the network wizard but still no joy.
Thanks for any advice.

Thanks guys....in my 12 years of doing reinstalls, I've never run into this
and am curious as to why this happened this time. But, glad for your help.

See Help and Support and search for "take ownership"

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP

Did you happen to convert your drives to NTFS format? If so, that's why. All of the user permissions were "broken" when you did your new OS install.
