Can't open new documents I work on. Please help!

Only thing I did before this happened was I downloaded Final Draft and the
Hewlett Packard Printer stuff.

My computer was running fine, and I don't know if it's connected or not, but
I downloaded Final Draft and downloaded the whole Hewlett Packard printer
stuff.

Now when I try to open a Microsoft Works document I had been working on, the
message says:

"In order to pen the file, Works needs to use a file converter which may
pose a security risk if the file you are opening is a malicious file. Choose
OK to open this file only if you are sure it is from a trusted source."

Then I click OK and it says:

"Works cannot open- the file may be in use by another application, the file
may not be supported by any of the installed converters, or the file may be
corrupt"

So I started a whole new doc and now it says that for this one too, off and
on. Sometimes it opens and sometimes this happens again.

Also, when I had the second document open, I tried to quickly email it to
myself but now my computer will not let any attachments to my email.

When I tried to attach the file both with Verizon and with Yahoo email,
they both acted like they were in the process of attaching, but the hourglass
stayed indefinitely.

Then I tried to copy the file to my flash-drive and the computer said that I
can't because only the administrator can do that. It never said that before
(I only share this computer with my child).

Hi Tink,

You haven't mentioned the version of Word or Works Word Processor or Windows you're working on, but yes adding
http://finaldraft.com could be significant. (with Word 2007 especially there are some troubling parts of the HP printer drivers and
software that doesn't play nice with Word when the HP printer is set as the default printer), but it could also be that those two
actions didn't play a part in this.

If you're working in MS Works wordprocessor you may want to use the link below to also post in that products discussion group.
